Planting trees with our monitor arms

The main contributor to global climate change is the greenhouse gas CO2. Did you know that you yourself can have a positive impact on reducing CO2 emissions?

Choose circular products

Circular solutions reduce emissions of harmful substances (such as CO2) into air, soil and water as well as waste. For example, R-Go Tools’ monitor arms are designed according to the principles of circularity.

Plant trees

Trees absorb CO2 from the air. We compensate every kilogram of CO2 needed to produce our monitor arms by planting trees. The principle here is that the CO2 emissions of a monitor arm must be compensated within 5 years. Since trees last 40 years on average, we compensate more than necessary this way.

Trees offset CO2 emissions

Trees take CO2 from the air and convert it into oxygen. This process is called photosynthesis. Sunlight shines on the leaves. Through the stomata on the underside of the leaf, the plant breathes in carbon dioxide (CO2). Eventually, the plant exhales oxygen again. This is why the destruction of our rainforests is a problem: we are removing our oxygen factory with those plants and trees.

Did you know that, on average, a tree absorbs about 22 kg (48lbs) of CO2 per year?

How do we determine the CO2 impact of our monitor arms?

The CO2 footprint (carbon footprint) is a measure of greenhouse gas emissions attributed to a particular consumption, production, a product, company or a region or country. A carbon footprint calculation or “life cycle assessment” results in the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions. For example, for our Zepher and Caparo monitor arms, we have had the amount of CO2 emitted in the whole process from raw material use, production, transport, use to waste calculated.

Plant a tree

To offset the CO2 emissions of our monitor arms, we work with a non-profit organisation dedicated to reforesting our planet. After choosing the best tree species, we work with local communities to plant the trees. Planting is usually done in the rainy season when the soil is wet, providing optimal conditions for the trees to survive.

Did you know that besides absorbing CO2, trees also:

  • filter the water we drink
  • provide homes for more than 80% of biological diversity
  • provide jobs for more than 1.6 billion people
  • are the main ingredients of 25% of all medicines

Our mission

One of the three pillars of R-Go Tools is “We care for our environment“. This is because we believe that we have a responsibility to be good stewards of the earth we live on.

This means practically that we think carefully about how our products should be made and which materials we use. We also collaborate with a non-profit organisation that plants trees.
