Healthy VDU work
Constantly paying attention to a good posture during VDU work is often forgotten, especially when the work has to be finished quickly or when a lot of concentration is required.
That is why it is important to pay attention to the workplace and to set it up for healthy results. An ergonomically designed workplace will imperceptibly encourage a healthy posture while working.
ISS, in cooperation with R-Go Tools, set up the case study “Healthy Screen Work”. The aim of this case study is to investigate the effect of an ergonomically designed workplace. In addition, to create awareness about the importance of healthy working in order to prevent work-related complaints.

Set-up
The set-up of the case study was as follows:
- Inventory of the current situation by issuing a questionnaire.
- Instruction by an ergonomist on healthy screen work and the use of ergonomic tools. After the instruction, the tools were handed out.
- Evaluation: After a few weeks, a first evaluation moment took place to gauge initial experiences and provide additional tips and advice. After two months an evaluation took place by means of a questionnaire.
All participants were able to test the following products:
Results
75% of the participants indicated in the evaluation form to recommend the R-Go Tools products to others.
Fewer complaints with R-Go Tools products
Half of the participants indicated in the evaluation form that they had physical work-related complaints before working with R-Go Tools products. All but one participant indicated that the R-Go Tools products helped reduce these complaints.
R-Go Riser Laptop Stand
Almost all participants were very satisfied with the R-Go Riser laptop stand. The major advantages mentioned as being lightweight, easy to set up, improving posture and flat to carry. ISS chose to provide the Riser laptop stand to all employees.

R-Go HE Mouse
Most participants were satisfied to very satisfied with the use of the R-Go HE mouse. The main advantage mentioned was that the mouse improves posture (of hand and forearm). Some participants said at first they had to get used to this new way of using the mouse.

R-Go Split Break Keyboard
Most participants were satisfied to very satisfied with using the R-Go Split Break keyboard. As advantages, they indicated that the keyboard is nice to use and convenient in two parts (also for carrying). The comments mention that for optimal use of the split keyboard, it is an added value to be able to type blind.
